OBJECTIVES

• List the indications and applications for performing a focused cardiac ultrasound exam.
• Identify normal and abnormal cardiac ultrasound anatomy.
• State routine imaging views and techniques for acquiring 2D cardiac images.
• Outline criteria for performing qualitative and quantitative assessment of LV function in a limited echo exam.
• State differential diagnosis of shock and the associated ultrasound findings.

Physicians, nurse practitioners, PA’s or other medical professional performing and/or interpreting: emergency medicine ultrasound examinations.
